Kannagi from Xedo-speedsubs

On hearing that a member of XedO-speedsubs had accused Ayako fansubs of stealing a script for Kannagi episode 3, a contact of mine went through XedO’s script to see how good it was. (After all, the script must have been worth stealing, right?)
Here’s the accusation, from AniDB:
The hilarious part about this is when you go to Jimaku Hikaku’s Kannagi comparison page and look at the screenshots (from episode 1):
I can't believe the concept of typesetting has reduced to such a state.

Lovely font choice and coloring, beautiful analog capture!
But hey, that’s just episode 1, right? The script was just a diamond in the rough, in need of a bit of polishing. Also, maybe someone persuaded them that giant pink Arial wasn’t quite the best choice of dialog font? Maybe they’ve cleaned up their act by the recent episode 3?

Sigh. Here, Xedo, have a TLC report that my contact kindly wrote for you, maybe it’ll help in your v2. He got through half the episode before giving up. Oh, also, he’s a Japanese native, so do excuse his English. (Subtract ~10s from all timings.)

This was totally a script worth stealing.
P.S. I also suggest learning to encode, because every motion in the release looks horrible. Not to mention that every 6th frame in the entire release is repeated, lol.

I like learning about those cool Japanese pictograms from TL notes!
Notice that the translation note is for 青梅竹马 (青梅竹馬), which is a Chinese expression and not a Japanese one. The actual term was 幼馴染 (osananajimi), but I guess you wouldn’t know that if you were translating from Chinese subs.

Aaaah, it’s funny because the line is so butchered, I can’t actually determine if “affect” or “effect” is correct. Though, based on the sterling reputation of Chichiro, high quality standard and the fact that they haven’t come out saying that they’re only whoring download numbers, I wonder who I’m going to trust on this one…(lol)
Seriously, though, that wall of text that Xedo made as a response is either the world’s worst troll or they seriously haven’t passed fifth grade English. The bullet points seem to be chosen at random from one, long, run-on argument. The best possible resolution for this situation is to never talk about this group again before they get any more negative publicity.
